David Tlale F/W 2015 NYFW

SALON, Lincoln Center-NYC
As soon as we spotted the fashion icon Bethann Hardison and style-tv personality smart guy Robert Verdi slipping in as the lights went down for the runway show of South African native David Tlale-we knew to expect a terrific collection on the catwalk ---and bonus points for a great soundtrack-whoever did the music.

from the back-just as wonderful..with details details detail
Sharp tailoring, and wonderful feminine silhouettes (for the most part-there were a few men's ensembles)…

front-one of our favs-asymetrical draped silk blouse paired with pencil skirt w/ draped pockets-finished with black stockings and pumps-flawless
... from polished daywear- skirts, slouchy trousers and cigarette pants, cropped wool jackets, draped blouses reminded us of YSL-70's- to glamorous evening wear…all in beautiful crepe and silk fabrics-in colors that ref-ed (for us)  the glorious African Savannah-swirling brown patterns-and wonderful shades of grey (though not 50 of them)- finishing up with a parade of dramatic black-knits, leather, cotton, silk brocade…lace and feathers.

textured wools, antique gold
silk crpe printed jacket-belted with long silk taupe skirt…perfectly proportioned

color worked well in double case cement duchess silk satin gown with a low back and cowl neck
ostrich feathers over sheer black blouse--high-waisted block wool with copper lurex pants-luxury and modern way to dress for evening

there were a few men's looks…like this black wool with copper lurex details tailored suit- a breezy black chiffon caftan shirt flowing out underneath the jacket
metal details at shoulder---worked so well -embellishments just the right editorial touch
Showing for a few seasons now…David Tlale def. garnered some new fans at this show …one can tell when no one is busy eye-balling their smartphones while the models past by…this outing was superb and full of wearable luxury ensembles that would please a global audience.
