TOKYO RUNWAY MEETS NEW YORK F/W 2015 Collections

SALON-Lincoln Center, NYC Having been to Tokyo-we can vouch for the ginormous amount of energy crackling through this packed city -all electrifyingly fast---like NYC's denser neighborhoods- but more eco efficient . Fitting then- that a huge video backdrop started the really terrific Toyko collections' runway show---with fast moving images of this metropolis-starting off a mix of well done modern ensembles by seven Tokyo based labels… Noticeable-American pop culture influence---which really has been a worldwide phenomenon-for a few decades now… since 1950's…but with distinct Japanese details/designs. Loved the show---always fun to see the best of  what else is out in the fashion world. LEANNE MARSHALL F/W 2015 NYFW

Leanne Marshall  -as a Project Runway Season 5 winner-is clearly a veteran of pressure when it comes to SHOWTIME---maybe partially why her gorgeous floaty show for F/W 2015---just seemed so effortless-with the models wonderfully moving along the Pavilion- Lincoln Center catwalk-in many floor-length gowns with billowing layers of sheerness dramatically highlighted… The tones ranged from white (appropriate as the designer is acclaimed for her bridal collection), ivory, forest green, ruby burgundy, rust,  and black. Divided into four groups-Le Voyage, La Chasse de L'amour, La Obsession, La Démence (translates person sinking into dementia)---hopefully the wearer of these romantic dresses have a happier ending.
