Design: Comfort, Social Impact & Tech

(Plus Home Offices AWAY FROM HOME )

Part One

The design professionals across several industries-including residential -commercial designers (and architects), and tech firms-creators of software/artificial intelligence that impacts the way we all live now ...have more commonalities than not.

To make life easier, to work better, transition from environments- seamlessly-surrounded by all the comforts of home-whether actually at home.

Inspirations: A Concept

Applause and laughter greeted  "...well-traveled and citizen of the world" Robert Coutrier's succinct answer to what inspires him..."THE CLIENT!!!"

Unbelievably to us-it's usually not that answer of this often asked question-from what we heard at the jam packed bi-annual DD Building Fall Market 2019.
But this fab keynote presentation on the theme of "The Global Future of Design,"  hosted by House & Garden's Editor-In Chief Hatta Byng-at the Lee Jofa and Brunschwag & Fils showroom=underscored that of course it is in a service economy!

What Else:

This slide from a DDB Fall Market Panel titled Home Away From Home-induced serious envy. By Rush Jenkins/Klaus Baer: WRJ DESIGNS-a jaw dropping exquisite home office overlooking the southern Tetons
How people live and work (work -life-balance), the beauty of product design...and the social/environmental impacts' of product design- incorporating emerging technologies- are all critical factors now for the Y2K concept of taking a TROPHY HOME-and making it a modern=practical=stress relieving abode in the soon to be 3rd decade of the 21st century.

And yes- the spectacular-ness  of private jets and mega yacht customer wants-included (FOMO)

Even a brief chat with two visionaries with practical smarts-from Argodesign-met a day later-at the  Decoded Future Summit New York  (A Stylus Event)...focused on their company's MO-and how it synched with the overall conference's theme-of sustainability, health, wellness and social good (and the innovative brand changers that get it).

No wonder there is so many mind melt cross-overs-across industries these days, Modern life demands it.

In Part Two-a recount of a few DDB Fall Market highlights.
