Restaurant Review: Four Cuts Steakhouse-Seafood/NYC

Healthy Eating-Smart Indulgences In A Traditionally Modern Restaurant

FOUR CUTS STEAKHOUSE-  a swank and comfy-fairly new restaurant-offers American 'classic'  cuisine for lunch and dinner- that can EASILY accommodate  fussy diners. Since we're all about the healthy eating with an occasional indulgence...the success of our dining experience-- hinged on fresh succulent seafood that is reason enough to visit -this 1076 First Avenue /NYC (Sutton Place neighborhood (between 58th/59th Streets).
FYI-an easy walk from subways/Bloomingdales/midtown.
Owner: Mirso Lekic and
General Manager: Rodolphe Siffredi greet guests like welcomed family-whether 20 something- first timers looking for a quick cocktail at the solid wood bar (with tempting homemade potato chips-you've been warned!)-or local patrons who regularly drop in for "...steak that's better than Peter Lugers"----as one fellow diner put it-to his congenial group of college pals planning their 35th reunion.
Seated in a spacious banquette lined round table in a corner...we felt comfortable immediately-and special-with iconic standards playing in the background (Frank Sinatra-who else?)...tables -properly set with crisp white linen and solid cutlery-spaciously set apart as to actually hear your companions without the usual annoying din...and an immediate serving-for us-of wine by the glass---a boldly smooth- Pouilly Fuissé  with a crisp mineral finish - the perfect choice for seafood appetizers. As might be expected of a classic establishment -specialty cocktails are popular---including a Manhattan-Rye, Carpano Antica & Angostura Bitters, a New York Sour Rye, House Sour Mix, Cabernet, a Hemingway Daiquiri Rum, Maraschino, Fresh Lime, Grapefruit and new classic-Vieux Carre Cognac, Rye, Carpano Antica, Benedictine, Pimento Bitters

An iPhone's pano setting---smartly-the solid walnut based tables and chairs (designed by Franco Lucic of LMF Group)...lend a refreshingly modern up to date feel to the room (C3D Architecture)- By 8PM-the elegantly relaxed dining room-with flair-via custom artwork, book lined shelves here and there... and a special wall garden-filled up -even on a windy stormy winter Tuesday night. Indicative of a local following-imo.

The menu---Steak and Chops, Fresh Seafood, and enough well prepared Vegetable sides to  easily accommodate vegetarians/vegans...including Specialty Dishes:  Porterhouse Steak for Two Prime NY Sirloin Steak, Veal Chop Grilled with an Apple Jack gastrique with sautéed wild mushrooms and Red Snapper Sautéed with a beurre blanc brunoise over a vegetable hash
Executive Chef: Christopher Miller (the former executive chef of NY fav Bobby Van's- and Sous Chef: Joaquin Linares expertly deliver entrees the way diners want it...including healthy grilled and steamed options, fresh fresh fresh ingredients-and large take-home ready portions...all expertly served at a relaxed pace by professional staff.

Some other options-equally as yummy----
chewy sourdough-one way to soak up delicious sauces

The Lobster Cocktail-large enough to almost be the main meal-fresh, juicy and shareable.
warm bowl of water-slice of lemon-the proper way to  wash up post lobster tails...
Salmon Tartare-palate pleasing chunks of fresh raw salmon and crunchy chopped vegetables-with balanced hints of citrus and chopped chives-served with toast...

Grilled Yellowfin Tuna-flaky juicy texture-cooked just right-adorned with grilled zucchini slices and fresh  herbs...divine

Steak-grilled just right...sliced and served the way the 'old fashion' way-a  gracious antidote to a rushed New Yorker who usually 'inhales' their food in a NY minute. Addictive. No wonder there are so many repeat diners-and this is a singe serving size, fyi.

sauce options including freshly grated horseradish...

a grilled mushroom mix was delicious---and ideal side to meaty entreés...

Violà...Grilled Yellowfin Tuna...with sides...

Sauce options...half of this entreé ended up in a doggy bag for a teenage son...

A separate dessert menu included a melt in your mouth-light creamy chocolate cake and fluffy tiramisu with espresso and creme layers...shareable and -yes- the indulgence part. So worth it.
