Building upon a tradition of warm cozy footwear, EMU "naturally Australian" showed well...a warm cozy line-up of F/W 2011 seperates that all layered up to trendy takes on the staples.
The iconic Aussie brand showed an earth tone collection---chocolate brown, charcoal. black, putty and mushroom grays, aubergine, hazelnut, dusty olive, and white....right outta the continent's landscape...and used in both the clothes and kickers.
We thought they did a great job...the luxe knits, the stylish outerwear with shape and details like bold zips, wool/denim jeans,
Cute layer easy vests, some with wide collars that can close when needed, and of course Australian sheepskin jackets and hooded coats---IMHO are destined to sell well.
Chatting up the Emu team backstage we learned that Aussie merino wool "is the best" with natural moisture management (ie it breathes), water resistant, odor resistant....and keeps it shape retention.
We did ask what the difference was between this brand and Uggs...and were told that Emu is priced slightly less for the same stylish quality----indeed we thought the original riffs on these boots are ugly...
But now come in more fashion forward profiles with oversized buttons, shearling cuffs, side buckles...etc...that merit this New York Fashion Week show---
And that Emu's sheepskin used in its footwear is water resistant...practical as well as warm. WITH supportive sheepskin lined insole, moulded heel cup, tough rubber outsoles...

MAKE-UP FOREVER used a pretty orange/tangerine on eyes and cheeks-#125, ("what white was last year") to warm up the looks.
To capture the light, a shimmery silver sparkle on the eye lids...added to the glow.
