West 24th Street, NYC a townhouse's private backyard that garnered serious envy from attendees... A lush tropical paradise comprised of five fashionable vignettes - with hot humid weather. ..transported attendees to the lush verdant landscape and colorful cultures of Brazil...via wearable, perfectly tailored- cool breezy separates by fashion veteran Tia Cibani...and terrific styling by Haidee Findlay-Levin. For Spring 2016-Tia Cibani-a designer with a very deep knowledge of fabrics- uses summery silk linen gauzes, crisp cotton poplins, terry knits with lightweight wool/suede in her collection of cocoon and bandeau tulip dresses, jumpsuits/rompers, sleeveless tanks and shells, blouses, tunics, kaftans, long full skirts and layer over vests...with beautiful details-hand embroidered flourishes, cooling open backs, and wonderful pleats/draped silhouettes- giving feminine shape to outfits fit for a Bahia culture- Samba festival...or a heated city street, back belt-crisp cot...

Chelsea Piers/NYC Mona Kowalska's label,  A Détacher has always had a distinct point of view-somewhat offbeat---for the smart, savvy gals…imo-and for A/W 2014-very spot-on---with wearable ensembles for the cold weather in deep autumnal tones. When we stopped by backstage before the RTW show-the usual backstage calm of this label's show-prevailed We asked the designer her inspiration for this season's offerings-"après sport-after sport" which as athletes-we assumed meant what we would want to wear after a day on the slopes…or a winter's hiking excursion. The models faces had a healthy flush (via Shiseido blushes)…that can be naturally acquired after a day outdoors in the cold. Of course-stylistically- the athletic inspired separates -made from materials-like wool-and leather---would be just fine on all gals-w...
