Men's Jewelry -Bling Goes Big

Men's jewelry-is an increasing percentage of the fine jewelry sales ( $200 and up) ...  picking up post pandemic via DTC sales and independent retailers.

Bold individual pieces now commonly join men's watches- that have been de rigeur for style (and status) since 'aspirational luxury' 19th century pocket watches got made.

What's on trend: notice me as well as more classic subtle rings, bracelets and necklaces to wear all the time by guys and gals who like the look -including customizing accessory staples in modern solid/ mixed shiny/matte metals and materials.

Impressively many collections that are hand made-boast the sophisticated details normally associated with the top tier luxury brands.

At a recent Accessories Counsel showcase...the demand for men's jewelry really stood out for several lines on display.

Phillip Garbriel Maroof's namesake Phillip Gaviel -an upscale collection had keepsake wearable (and stackable) silver sterling woven chain bracelets (including everyday black leather/silver clasps), Aura worthy gemstone bracelets, modern 14k woven chains and 18k detailed ones that lie flat on the wrist (precious metals' selections priced into the $1000s).

Cable bar cufflinks are still popular -even with today's remote work life-for weddings (or court appearances, ha ha). More subtle woven chain link chains and geometric sparkling precious gemstone Dog Tag necklaces are popular- and accessibly priced men's rings ($220-$315) in styles typical of signet/affiliation rings- are fashionable/ masculine pieces for all generations... (can add a personal adornment touch with engraving).

Bonus: Made in Italy selections in the Phillip Gaviel collection-are standouts-reflecting the fine jewelry making heritage of Florence trained Maroof-who comes from a family of jewelers. Available online and in select independent jewelry stores.

Accessibly priced Esquire's Est.1933 collection (the iconic men's magazine known for its editorial style-established in 1933)-has the everyday wear kind of guy in mind with it's layer friendly metal pieces-that can work on their own too. Available exclusively at Jared.

As with many other men's lines-classic and more modern sporty chain link bracelet and necklace designs (various lengths) are popular-including a smaller sized Foxtail, a bigger/wider spaced Figaro-and the favored Cuban link version-that can easily be worn playing sports.

A step up a notch in price- the Esquire line-showed single "pendants with personality" adding contemporary bolder options-including some with shiny diamond inlays...to pair with distinctive see me earrings (sold single)-capture the vibe of hip upmarket streetwear. Available at Macy's and independent retailers.

Another adjacent collection-expands on the Bulova Watch company's traditional heritage with it's own Bulova chains-a mix of classic Euro ...paired with the Bohemian company logo-on a signature pendant and ring.

New to us but probably not new to anyone living in Italy-where the company has 1700(!!!) retail outlets, Brosway Italia- a family owned multi-generational jewelry company- is set to make its presence known on this side of the Pond.

Designed in Italy-the Brosway Italia's men's pieces have European flair that easily translates into wearable accessory additions for any American guy (individually priced under $200)...from 'simple' elegance to flashier day to night offerings.

Bracelets -easy to put on and stack up come in popular natural gemstone beads of various colors and in practically iconic- woven black leather with silver metal, natural stone details/clasps.

Another hit-are the slim geometric black zircona pendants  attached to male sized chain link metals (available in three tones) defining an urban style in the "INK" collection. Another formal or casual look= the blingy (but not blinding) colored zircona tennis bracelets-in a good width for guy's wrists.

Bonus: Hypoallergenic...

New: A namesake boutique in Las Vegas' The Venetian Hotel- eta November...a perfect spot to launch a men's jewelry brand, stateside.

ELYSE RYAN has a wide winning assortment of bracelets ...and for men, the Resolute and Rooted onyx, silver and sterling silver beaded can give rockstar status to the wearer.($79)

BONUS: some bracelets in this winning collection are in support of/ in collaboration with major health charities StandUp to Cancer and the American Heart Association ...that would work on any wrists.
