Ms. Acra must have been hard at work in her garden this year, considering all of the delightful floral prints and horticultural references in this collection, such as "organza skirt in Lady Bug". This translated to day and evening tea length numbers in colors like marigold, royal purpled, and emerald green.
For day, the dresses, and skirts were of a festive nature. Of particular note - a voile shirt worn with an A-line poppy colored satin skirt, and a gold sequin tank dress and a longer black sequined one for evening entertaining, in keeping with the trend of styles zooming in closer to the body, The waistline was a consistent point of interest, lots of wide satin belts for day and evening.
It was not surprising to see Essie Weingarten in the audience, paying close attention to the jewel-hued designs parading down Reem’s runway. Ms. Weingarten [Founder and President of Essie Cosmetics Ltd., - the nail polishes generated $31 million in sales last year] is a woman of taste who is inherently attracted to elegance and is also a solid Ralph Rucci Customer.
Reem shone brightest in the evening wear section. She ended with a smattering of the gorgeous gowns that makes her a fave of the A-list Red Carpet contingent. Our pick, exit #32, the hand draped column gown with a sheer mini train in iris. Few designers can work a bodice as skillfully as Reem can, the bodice and bras were fitted to perfection. It wouldn’t’ be a proper Reem Acra show with out SOME beading. We loved the pearl chiffon necklace with the sewn- on necklace. The show made us eagerly anticipate her October Bridal show.
