EXCLUSIVE ALERT:

Backcountry X Burton Promised Land Splitboard

When we first tried split boarding (hiking up a mountain in ski  mode, then hooking up latches and cruising (wiping out) down the mountain in a heavy snowboard configuration-back in the day-thoughts of all the insurance lawyers in our family-came to mind...and forbidding their kids to partake-just like tackle football. Ahem.

Jump ahead a decade +
WOW-the new split boards by collabs aforementioned- PROMISED LAND splitboard is so upgraded-it's practically a new sport.

THINK: directional camber floats while tail-sinks in the powder with setback stance-(turn help)...carbon highlights enhance responses and the wood core lightens it up and makes the uphill trek easier... PLUS the medium flex (6/10) for high speed flexibility-and directional swallowtail shape = way more fun ride-that cruises the flat spots too... and the  split channel mount is completely adjustable.

 men's + women' s versions.

easy to install-strap in-out-pivot bindings. and the skins -rolled up at the top- come in color choices and traction choices.
Bonus upper body workout-removing the skins -prior to attaching together the skis....
Attached bindings in snowboard mode-takes like a minute.  That's with gloves on. Reminded us of the ease of our beloved K2 clickers.
Hardware latches-have greatly improved over the years to say the least -and lightened up!
