Wellness: Luxury of Living

Personal wellsprings of self care are popping up  -for populations focusing on a life lived, well.

Subjectively interpreted of course.

21st century attributes and expectations- in a connected world constantly measured/monitored by metrics...often needs  to also include just how to slow down and enjoy the moment, no numerical feedback required.

Part One:

WELCOME: A VIP Movie Going

Leisure pursuits outside of the home are in competition with...screen time inside...like Netflix and video games. Hence the re-think of  cinema experiences...which we got to check out recently in the Big Apple, at the latest CMX cinemas venue-CMX CinéBistro.

Manhattan, and NYC in general does not lack for fun pursuits-day or night...so any new venture better deliver unique options to succeed.

Question-therefore...does this outlet-one of 37 dine-in movie theaters-accomplish its 'mission'?

Answer -yes,

PLUS a perfect date night destination, escape from a winter hibernation, an after hours unwind spot that is probably more chill than a usual hang (21 and over, only-after 6pm),

it is suggested an eta 30 minutes prior to the movie start

And imo-the perfect private event venue for the urban sophisticated bar/bat mitzvah, Quinceaña-sweet sixteen bunch who've done it all already = the multi-story CMX CinéBistro...a chic comfy newly renovated six-story space (really movie PALACE)-outfitted with the latest  technology and interiors designed to pamper...all while ALSO delivering farm to table (like) made to order eats -right to one's pre-reserved seat.

AHHHH:

First-run movies-screened in one of six 46-64 seat intimate auditoriums-are furnished with amazing reclining (just push a button!!!) wide supportive plush chairs-tricked out with storage cubbies, dim LED light and swing table trays.

All enveloped by acoustic heaven- via Dolby-7.1 Surround Sound.

Yes this is better than your apartment.

we took this pic in the gleaming kitchen...over sized eats include features like pan seared Ora King Salmon (sourced from New Zealand-with sauteed in Miso Brown Butter-/pan roasted King Trumpet mushrooms+ cauliflower-($29) YUMMY Short Rib Mac+Cheese ($25), CMX Steak,..sandwiches-Bistro Burger custom blend of angus steak, brisket+chuck w/ signature sauce+cheddar cheese and egg  option (note veggie take on this too-priced $11-20)

The Headliner:
desserts like indulgent caramelized banana cheesecake and heavenly strawberry-mezcal tres leches w/ macerated berries imo def extravaganza is def for 2
Billing itself as a culinary destination in an city that has a gazillion of them-might seem a stretch, but for sure, the diverse menu options- generous sized 'previews' appetizers (like delish Lobster Cannoli $28), 'features' entreés, and shareable sides/desserts are ready for prime time.

Hand crafted cocktail specials and full primo spirits/liquors ($11-$15)-with all the trimmings done in-house (think stuffed cheese olives, Catskill Mt infused rosemary vodka martinis)...

...and a sommelier smart wine /local brews'  menu...enjoyed at one of two bars...are tailored for these seen it all zip codes.

Additionally, food/drinks and EVEN the 'Essentials' like POPCORN -all delivered efficiently during the previews-with an enviable ratio of one staff-to ten guest.

Bonus- the multi paged menu changes up seasonally, is ingredient driven and in NYC -85% of choices are unique ;-)
NICE TOUCHES:

Buy movie tickets online,  from lobby touch screen kiosks or an actual human-and select seats -just like when one buys an airline ticket.

Oversized screens lining the bar areas-sport live events-so one never has to miss a moment.

The tasteful and spotlessly clean bathrooms have the coolest functional  Dyson faucets-  automatically dispensing water and hot air blasting-mercifully easy to use-via helpful mounted picture instructions.

There's a movie start pretty much every half hour during the usual times.

Private events-can customize menu options that include gluten free and vegan/vegetarian.

Added plus: with cook to order food-special diets can most likely be accommodated. As can late arrivals-just order/pick-up at the bar...you'll be paged when ready.
