EBONY WHITE-Women's Spring 2013 -Contestant on Rihanna's Styled To Rock

from the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Tents...

Ebony White-Style of Rock contestant
We could see why the casting director of the new Rihanna helm-ed Styled to Rock reality show competition (set to air on the Style network- Tuesdays at 8 EST beginning Nov. 5th) 'recruited' the talented and smart--- and beautiful herself-fashion designer Ebony White...

This Arkansas native, Howard University/FIT grad with 15 years solid employment in the biz- toiling for the likes of Juicy Couture, DKNY, Calvin Klein, Baby Phat and Felina Lingerie,  clearly works confidently well and works efficiently fast-as evidenced by the focused collection -done in a month!!!--that debuted-at the midtown Fashion Group International office right off Fifth Ave.
scooped neck cropped leather top paired with a layered sheer+solid long yellow silk/chiffon handkerchief hem...rock style classic-a great sashay onto a stage to collect/present an award

the metallic gold material gives this silhouette drama

Rushing up from a downtown show-we missed the formal presentation---but got their in enough time to scarf down a tasty Mr. Cupcakes mini...and have the über talented Ms. White show us some very multi-tasking (imo) ensembles...that are user-friendly- very wearable. Impeccable fits-we can see where the lingerie design background really benefits.
solid bronze-y silver metallic on one side-the back is sheer on this  flowing top-with silk skirt hem trimmed with same material

this elegant shorts-with flower print insets-paired with a pointed tuxedo style collar- sheer long sleeved blouse...versatile separates that could qualify as work wear in a lot of places-paired with a cute black blazer
There was a lot to like.

The separates are edgy/trendy-but with clean lines ---not over the top, at all---and very well made. As she explained to us-a lot of pieces-the tops in particular-play with the sheer (chiffon and plastic) -paired with the solid (leather, silk).
the knees are seamed for grrrrls---in these moto style slim fitting pants, deep front pockets that lie flat---LOVE
A very elegant and somewhat classic flower print that reminded us of the gushed about "Out of Africa" fabric (that movie won an Oscar for set design and decorators' favorite)...gets an all modern girl take here---showing up in moto style pants, a cap sleeve top with matching hot pants shorts,  and dressier shorts to- dress up or down.
white leather top---scoop neck, cropped sleeves-sheer back

Cool dress-with a black leather bustier top atop plastic skirt  with solid leather band trim...for those with legs that are worth showing off. Black eather shorts pictured in back-staples for so many gals we know.
Sexy attire, not trashy -there's a difference---the apparel would work just as well off stage as on...and the solid tones that are pervasive throughout the collection-particualr with the all white or black tops- lend themselves to accessorizing with major bling too.
layers of ruffles on sleeves-sheer plastic inset, with pointed collar and neck!

deep v neck-in multi tiered ruffled sleeves-festive top wear with evening skirt or day denim...back zipfor easy on/off

flower print blouse-reverses to  white sheer back---pictured below-paired with adorable flower print shorts...

Ebony White showed two dresses also-a fitted bustier top in black/white/peachy pink color blocks---balanced atop similarly toned flouncy tiered bottom--the graphic print-broken up into vertical bands---is portions of a face...something not first noticed---very clever....

have to see this on someone-Grecian Goddess gently pleated long white  gown---with the bands of orange revealing themselves with movement. Love how the top is made-gathered shoulders with shaping a deep v neck in front, and back panel-gathered at the neck-racer back style.

model in Ebony White-bustier top and matching shorts

fun fun fun-get a selfie taken at the Lincoln Center tents  (and post according)with multi-fingered rings-one for each hand blinging out ---spelling out what else...Styled to Rock
