Designer Niklas Ankar's Spring/Summer 2013 collection, titled "SPECTRUM DE LUZ" ---should establish his label ANKAR SWEDEN---as the go to menswear line for polished style---"...reminiscent of the 1950's and 1960's classic Hollywood resort life..."
The staged presentation at the local P.J. Clarkes---with the models standing on boxes----aligning the open street windows at their backs...was a civilized affair...and a terrific format in which to admire how well tailored the clothes are.
note the collar lining in contrast print-open collars required
modern safari jacket-single breasted jacket in linen---goes from the jungle to the city, effortlessly
It all worked!
Cool, easy and elegant-the presentation --and the clothes---with solid neutral tone and madras plaid blazers smartly paired with bold colored trousers---in a palette that a lot of guys we know shy away from---particularly the deep fushia, pink and lavender shades----BUT looked just handsome here----the colors regulated to the cotton/stretch pants or/and classic Oxford shoes-and visually connected with the ensemble via pocket squares.
madras jacket....short length hits just below hip bones-looks great-bold pink pants tied in with pocket square
Nehru collar---on white jacket-looks modern here-not a typical look for a Western guy--- with black slacks
blazers---work just as well with jeans and chinos----
pima cotton sweaters....with limited edition block print swimwear
Importantly though....we think this label is wearable outside of that rarified life---for adult men who can appreciate well made clothes and want to look pulled together...
madras...under safari style jacket that's tailored so well---all in the details
shirt hems-made to be worn out or tucked in....
