BERGANS Of Norway Performance/Lifestyle APPAREL

Outdoor Retailer/SLC

words/images Judith Ecochard

Bergans Of Norway has a stellar rep for technical, expedition and eco aware, wear and high performance gear in its native country...and when the brand first debuted at the OR tradeshow---we took a look see and thought-with a bit of tweaking for the USA market-they will do just fine. (most recent review= Fall 2011-)

Now with a base in Colorado---the label is really putting down some roots across the POND---

We think, Americans would be impressed-first off with the performance aspects of the apparel-including Bergans shell garments made with 2 or 2 1/2  layer and 3 layer Dermizax™--- with "200%" elasticity, aka four way stretch, and all layer types- insuring apparel are seriously water proof, with extreme breathability and body heat retention properties-even if the garment is dirty (a cool thing-as often that blocks the moisture wicking properties)-------and fyi, membranes laminated onto the fabric for durability and easy maintenance.

Highlights:

Bodø Down Lady Coat-windproof down-with nice quilted stitching keeps the puffiness to a flattering minimum. Slightly longer back hem-good for when you're sitting down, zip-off hood faux fur, 2 way zip in front with front storm flap and press studs. Front and inner pockets and eyelet for headphones. Elasticized cuff.
