Oooh là là!

Right away we saw ----

Color pops and chic design= the epitome of this fun / functional partnership between the French designer JC Caselbajac and the mountain wear/gear giant Rossignol.

Coined Victoire de JC/DC et Rossignol...

With a media booklet that features an entire page of literary quotes from the likes of Stendhal, defining the noun la VICTOIRE, and the verb…(hey, it’s French),

Even if we missed the connection, we got the genius of it all…

For gals, feminine silhouettes--- (high waists, fitted, belted jackets with curved seams),

Kirkwood ($900)

thoughtful touches (a bag with handwarmers=smart),

bright tones and white-shiny or matte, and the iconic Castelbajac graphics like oversized carmine red lips

PLUS: made out of technical fabrics that are needed for winter performance wear…like Gore-Tex, Eldeven premium down, Thinsulate insulation etc…

With features like detachable hoods, fashionable zips that close functional pockets…and Flex collars for comfort and flexibility and a removeable duvet collar for warmer temps.

Manning GTX ($850)

Rossignol’s 1907 Collection actually references the 50-s to the 70’s, “a golden age for ski”---and certainly for the French who dominated the winners’ podiums. Vintage racing vibes get translated on the Men’s Gran Turismo Jacket ($600)-pictured left- that boasts 4-way stretch and 20,000 Flex membrane fabric

MEANING--- an intelligent textile… when it’s cold, the molecular structure is blocked, trapping body heat, and opens up when it is warm, increasing breathability.

Women's Jane Light Down Jacket ($350) is a sleek lacquered finish, form fitting topper, made from Eldeven premium quality down for the ultimate in warmth and comfort.

Winter alpine sporty styles also get inspired by the recent World Cup ---the ski one that is, where the French scooped up the awards, not the football (soccer) one where Les Bleus scooped up the jokes/insults.

Designed with the racers’ edge, these separates for men and women ($250-$600) are made from the "Super Fabric" that resists abrasions and also has the 20,000 Flex membrane fabric with Thinsulate insulation.

Fitted Saphir Pant $250

Freestylers –and off-piste is the way to go in the Alps- get their own needs met in the Freeski Powder collection inspired by S7 creator, artist Caia Koopman “and modern day heroes…”

Men's Phantom Jacket $480 and Women's Sky Down Jacket $280

The Phantom Harness Pants -that's built-in ($350), is a standout in this technical collection…as are the other heat sealed waterproof jackets.

And boarders get the bold graphics and saturated shades of the Jib (SAS) mid-length jackets (no powder up the back on wipe-outs, YEAH!)…and boot pants. Artists from around the world give this Rossignol collection a youthful vibe for on and off slope activities. ($160-$250)
