MARKUS LUPFER S/S 2011 @ SOHO HAUS BERLIN

Sponsored by Cointreau...

MITTE, Berlin

The private members only, Soho House, Berlin---

opened its doors in May 2010---and was an ideal locale for a presentation by German fashion designer - Marc\Kus Lupfer.

We got a look-see at the contemporary clothes, simply presented on spotlit mannequins ---the way it should be presented btw---with lots of room and time to admire Lupfer's way with intricate knits, clever use of sequins... cheeky slogan---ed tees

and GET why this designer has his clothes in all the right online shops--- like net-a-porter, denim-heavy Revolve clothing, shopbop etc.

"EFFECTIVELY Off-duty cool"---is how his attire has been described ---and we agree.

Smartly, Lupfer teamed up with the liquor Cointreau ---for a head-turning bling bling handbag in homage to the Cointreaupolitan that no doubt, is made in extreme limited editions. FUN.

Soho Haus itself is huge compared to the NYC one. Done out in a 1928 post-bauhaus structure with interiors that manages to fuse the industrial edge with the comfy (via plush leather seats, ping pong table in the lobby, etc)

---the ground floor housed a b/w photography exhibit---based on the ESPN documentary that takes players back to the moment----

I SCORED A GOAL IN A (FIFA) WORLD CUP™ FINAL

Loved it.
