SAG HARBOR, BRIGGS New York VALUE BASICS FOR WOMEN

EDITOR'S PREVIEW Midtown, NYC

Two subsidiaries of soft goods giant Kellwood recently had press previews for their Fall 2010 collections, set to start delivering this summer.

SAG HARBOR® makes everything for career gals from suits to accessories. Mostly priced under $100 (and most separates under $50)...

"cardies"...and twin sets, are the big sellers

Popular amongst retailers like Kohl's and Sears are the attached infinity scarves, studs and embellishments like attached necklaces.

Tweed blazers, well cut to land just at the hip bone...and soft pastel (pale pink, lemon) wool mix blazers (holiday delivery) are also expected to sell well.

What else---animal prints and jewel tones.

We thought the collection well done for women who need to look polished/pulled together for their office jobs.

Well made...in easy care fabrics. And the market for these clothes is every women really...which is why the sizes range from 2 and up.

Briggs New York similarly is looking to dress working women--- and is sold at retail chains like JC Penney.

Knubby tweeds, a blazer with an attached flower pin, cable knit cardigans, and nice outerwear jackets (nice touch---the soft ruffles) ...were some on the standouts.

Accessories include sunglasses ($25) and most handbags priced around $50.
