THE GREENROOM NYC Showroom FALL 2010

530 Seventh Ave. NYC

Showroom visits allow for close-up looks and follow-ups of designers missed during packed fashion weeks---so a visit to the GreenRoom NYC gave us time to catch up on the latest from Yana K ...and Magalis Garcia …and some new labels too.

First on the racks was the all black sophisticated separates of "walking art" (very work appropriate too) by Jane Oh.

The collection, all made in LA…featured high end details like silk linings and French seam constructions…and flattering silhouettes from luxe fabrics like silk georgette and chiffon.

Nice.

Magalis Garcia hails from Puerto Rico and uses “simple fabrics” but is “crazy for the body.”

The looks are sculpted, with ornate hand applied features and embellishments…

...like leather appliqué over velvet.

Love the leg of mutton sleeves on this tweed jacket.

Unique…and obviously very labor intensive fashion…check out all the hand stitching!!!!

One Gray Day uses a lot of hardware, details in this contemporary priced line…as in this very flattering black tunic dress with built in silver decorative neckline.

We liked the bomber too…a warm, stylish outwear piece.

Keith Lissner also showed NYFW…

For Fall 2010 the exotic Russian Gypsy served as inspiration.

“He’s all about the fabrics,” with classic silhouettes…his one of a kind elegant evening gowns, sparkling with sequins…are Red Carpet ready.

Los Angeles based ,a href=http://www.yanak.com>YANA K…references the 80’s …but we think her adorable frocks are pitch perfect for now.

Bat wing tops, long blazers,  slim minis…

We would call these dresses all year round ready…depending on hosiery, footwear and if worn underneath a cozy wrap sweater or blazer.

One of our favorite labels.
